"the whole arrangement was smooth and well organised..."

"The team were so responsive and lovely and helpful, and the bouquet turned out beautifully..."
Held my wedding solemnization ceremony at Peach Garden Metropolis during Phase 2 (Heightened Alert). Had initially booked and planned to hold my wedding banquet at Peach Garden OCBC Centre but had to make various changes due to the government measures. Extremely grateful and thankful to have the manager, Winson, throughout to help us in making sure my big event went smoothly. My wedding planning was severely affected by the Covid-19 measurements; as I went from planning a banquet for 70 pax, to possibly ask for 100 pax, to being reduce to 50 pax, and finally had to settle for just a ceremony capped at 50 pax. Had my fair share of stress and frustration during the planning but was lucky to have Winson to sort out the various details. Would highly recommend any couples planning to hold their wedding banquet at Peach Garden to contact Winson. The cosy ambience at Metropolis is also suitable for anyone planning to hold a intimate wedding banquet. The staffs were also very helpful on the actual day of the event; reminding of various things to take note, and all the while, allow me to focus on my ceremony. Would give Winson and staffs 5 stars for their service and commitment. As for the food, I attended a wedding show hosted at Peach Garden Metropolis. Was pretty satisfied with what was served. As ultimately my ceremony did not include any food or drink from Metropolis, hence the 4 star reviews.

We chose to have our wedding dinner at Peach Garden at Metropolis on July 27 2019 because it has a nice setting and the food is fantastic. But the manager of the restaurant was really bad and the service was terrible in many ways as detailed below: 1. The server for our table kept being very rude and having no sense of when she should be serving her food. This is especially appalling considering that the VIP table should have the best service. Everyone noticed how loud and rude she was, even people from the other tables, because she would often be talking very loudly during the speeches (“Excuse me! Excuse me! Do you like some water or tea?!”) and during the playing of the video she would walk in front of the screen and block the projector. 2. My bridesmaid also found that many of the serving plates were dirty and had chili sauce on it. 3. The servers were not bringing around the wine and beer that was offered by the restaurant. We had also ordered extra wine, but because the guests did not know that there was more wine and beer, they did not order them - hence we had a lot of bottles of wine left over. 4. This is my biggest complaint. The manager, Desmond, initially wanted us to leave at 10pm, even though we had agreed on leaving at 11pm with Jasmine. Our contract stated 4 hours use of the restaurant and we only started arriving at 7pm, hence 11pm is a reasonable time. First, he told us that the air-conditioning of the place will be turned off at 10pm (which is not true). Later when we talked to him again, he very begrudgingly allowed us to stay till 10.30pm. This caused our whole schedule of the dinner to be very stressed and rushed, because we had a few performances and speeches lined up during the night. We also rushed our table photo-taking to order to try to finish early. At 10.30pm, we were done taking pictures, but the guests were still sitting around and enjoying their time together. However, by this time Desmond was standing around and giving us very angry glares to make us try to leave as soon as possible. He even told my friends to ask the guests to leave. This whole experience was really upsetting and unpleasant because both my husband and I are living in the US, and we do not get a lot of time to spend with our family and friends in Singapore. Additionally, we had intentionally chosen a smaller restaurant, with a small guest list, so that we can get to spend more time with our family and closest friends during the. While many other things happened during the wedding that could be better, this is the one that left us, our family and our friends the most upset about. I really hope that in the future, either the manager is changed, or Desmond really needs to be re-trained. It is really hard to believe that in his selfishness to leave and go home for the night, that he would intentionally ruin such an important day that has required a lot of effort, money and time to happen, and a day that is important for many people. Many of our family and friends set aside their time to attend this wedding; many of them even flew from Korea, US, Japan and Switzerland to attend our wedding. For other couples who are considering to have their wedding at Peach Garden @ Metropolis, I will strongly advice against it. I hope that you will never have to experience what we did, and look back at your wedding with sadness and anger because of the situation. Edit: I contacted Peach Garden’s management and they were shocked by the service staff. They took the matter seriously, apologized, and refunded me the service charge for the dinner as a token of apology. They also mentioned retraining the staff especially Desmond and the waitress who served at the VIP table.
