Wheeler's Tropikana

We had our wedding lunch here with Jasmine from Tropikana as our coordinator. The venue has very Bali-esque and chill vibes, which was what we were looking for. She accommodated to our last-minute requests readily, gave us practical advice on how to best provide a wonderful experience for our guests. Interactions with us always had positive vibes even when we had requests that were not possible. These positive vibes were also apparent and brought out by the Tropikana crew on the wedding day itself. On top of that, there were raving reviews from the guests: Twice cooked pork w sweet chilli tamari Ondeh ondeh Slow cooked beef stew with potato, carrot and spring pea Roasted organic chicken with confit garlic and lemon

Our breath was taken away by the initial ambience of the place. Natural open concept with great landscaping as a backdrop. Reminds us of being in bali. The only thing that spoilt that whole paradise was a giant TV screen right smack in the middle of nature! Whoever made that decision....oh dear.....it's a very jarring and unfortunate decor design decision. Sorry to say, the wed's band's rock music were a bit painful to the ears & senses with their choice of music and out of tune - again an unfortunate addition. In terms of food, the most memorable was the roasted broccoli with some special egg dip. Octopus was inedible - too chewy and that was not taken off the bill but replaced with chocolate ice-cream. The rest of what we ordered was just ok. We will return - only because of the almost great ambience but probably on a different evening and hopefully with better curated music.

Vibrant atmosphere. Can be used for normal dining, ROM venue, or party venue, live band performances(Tues - Sat night), with amenities catered for each. The food tastes awesome. Portion Vs pricing, I'd say it's decent. It's what you pay for. Lots of parking spaces.
