Attended wedding dinner at Summer Palace, 8+1 courses. Food is good, not the usual fair, and generous portion. Good service too.

Maybe it makes a difference in presentation, but the portion is for 6 adults. Wedding tasting menu. Let's talk about the service first. Somehow, expectation from a 1⭐ Michelin restaurant, I thought the atmosphere would be dense with formal service. But its actually quite, polite and friendly. Don't feel the "air" at all. The staff were friendly throughout the conversation. They also appear to have some knowledge of the food which was a bonus to me so good job on that. The food I particularly like the XO sauce items like the prawn dish. Not to overwhelming, but tasty enough. The deep-fried shrimp on the second picture was however flat on the taste. So we decided to swap that out for roast pork. The chicken dish -Roasted Chicken in "mogolian style" with minced garlic. My most favourite dish in my opinion. Because the the taste is immersed into the meat. Making the flavour balance in every bite, even without the skin. Is the breast dry? Fortunately it isn't. Neither was it juicy. But soft with sufficient bite texture. Steam Live Seabass in Hong Kong Style Though it is quite common, i thought the fish chewyness is like a bit more towards a chicken thigh. But softer. Harder texture than a normal fish. Which also means, it doesnt flake that much. It's a good thing if you are wondering. Other than that, its standard to expectation. Ee Fu Noodles with shredded mushroom in XO chilli sauce Another signature dish. This XO sauce is different from the praw xo sauce. The noodles are more well balance and tasty. Not spicy but an enjoyable dish. Sweeten Red Bean Cream with Glutinous rice dumplings My parents like it a lot. Not too sweet. Smooth enough to swallow. The rice ball is soft and chewy as it should. Slightly thicker on the skin thought. The rest are quite... Acceptable. Not much to talk about. So lets not try too hard ya?😉 One last thing is the toilet. I thought it is a little too small though. Luxury finish but not luxury spaced. 🤷🏻♂️
