We organized a wedding banquet for ~210 guests and had Linus as our emcee. Our initial reason for choosing him was because he was very fluent in both English and Mandarin, which was great for our mix of relatives and friends (because he could use Mandarin for some of our older relatives, while using English for our friends and cousins). He was also able to do musical performances, which added a really nice, chill vibe to the evening. However, what really impressed us was how much value he added beyond simply being our emcee. 1. Thorough planning and preparation Linus arranged sessions with us to go through the banquet timeline in detail, making sure sufficient time was allocated for each activity. He also provided a comprehensive checklist and logistics list, which helped us keep track of all the preparations and ensure everything was settled well before the wedding day. 2. Thoughtful recommendations for activities He recommended several wedding activities that suited our audience, and guided us on how to conduct and space them out throughout the banquet. 3. Smooth execution on the actual day On the wedding day itself, Linus did a fantastic job at keeping the entire banquet flowing smoothly. He handled transitions between games, march-ins, speeches and other segments seamlessly, while also reacting calmly and effectively to unexpected situations. He kept the schedule on track, which allowed me and my wife to actually enjoy the evening with relatively little stress. If you're someone who likes to plan your wedding properly and have everything well organized, I would definitely recommend Linus. Beyond his emcee skills, the planning framework and guidance he provides can save you a significant amount of time and effort. The checklist and logistics list may seem a little daunting/tiring when you first see them, but they are extremely useful in the long run. On the day, he was super punctual and organized, but most impressive is how he moves seamlessly between hyping up the crowd with games/performances, while coordinating vendors and banquet staff firmly behind the scenes. He’d also quickly smooth over any hiccups without ever losing his own momentum on stage. With the two of us, he was always patient - set up several prep sessions beforehand to iron out the event flow, giving us guidance on the small but important details that we would have never considered. We're very, very grateful Linus was so flexible in accommodating all the extra entertainment items we wanted to include, and he even offered to add in thoughtful extra touches of his own was amazing. He even warmed my partner up enough to do a surprise solo performance on stage in front of everyone, which would not have happened had he not been encouraging (and discreet enough to keep it a secret the whole time) - a true wedding master in every sense… Linus really brought out the best in both of us, and in our guests, and you can tell this isn't just a job for him - he genuinely loves what he does as a wedding master. We received tons of compliments from our guests about him after the event, and a few even asked how to engage him for their own upcoming weddings.
