Food is probably quite ok, but please don't do your wedding events here. Service is very poor, the waiters have 0 initiative to offer drinks and standing around waiting for things to happen. A 3-course lunch took from 12 to almost 3pm, with guests distinctively eating their own choice of dishes in separate batches. Kitchen obviously wasn't staffed or equipped enough to handle the size of the event they took on.

We finally had our wedding at The Villa in November 2022 after postponing it due to Covid. The event management team were very understanding during the postponement process and helped us every step of the way. We live in the UK and Shanelle from the team was super accommodating to our schedules and time difference whenever we needed to communicate. We really appreciated the prompt replies! In the lead-up to the wedding, Jojo was our point of contact. She was always super on the ball, friendly and reassuring. Wedding planning is obviously stressful and she really made an effort to make the process as seamless as possible for us. We had no problems placing our trust in her and her team as she was very genuine in wanting to make it the best day possible for us. She suggested decor options just going off our vibe and we were really pleased with how it all turned out. On the day itself, special mention has to go to Tao Ha and team who went above and beyond to help the day run as smoothly as possible. Our guests were well taken of throughout the day and had very positive things to say about the service. Tao Ha also made it a point to check on us as a couple to see that we had food and drinks – much appreciated! All in all, a very positive experience and a day to remember in a beautiful venue that makes the most of the leafy surroundings.

Was there for a wedding invite. Nice location but parking is limited. Food was OK but service was slow probably due to lack of manpower.

1) The speakers are faulty, hence our march in song couldn't be played at an audible volume. When we requested for a volume increase, there was cracking sounds from the speakers. Speakers did not have singer voice when the march in song was played. 2) Waiters and waitresses were walking pass the projection in the courtyard room when the projector was used to show our pre-wedding video, casting their shadows on the projection screen when the guests were viewing the video. 3) Some guests were told we were out of wine, however, there were a few opened bottles still yet to be served at the counter (checked by the groom). The groom requested those half consumed bottles to be served towards the end of the event. Did not serve the purchased alcohol beverage to the guests since the start of the event, only served when told to do so by us. 4) Above feedback was emailed to the staff on 19 Jul 2022, but no response was given back to us until today, after we've made the final payment on the day of the event.

3.5⭐️ Had our wedding at the Villa in July, we booked the courtyard + batik room for about 90 guests :) The place was beautifully decorated, with fresh flowers on every table. If you hit certain guest count, there’s also placement card for every guest. We loved the cozy atmosphere. The restaurant staffs are great as well, helping us to bring over cocktail table (with decor!) for our solemnisation at BandStand, constantly asking if we’re good, serving dessert earlier for us as they know that couples tend to be too busy for dessert time. Quite a number of guests couldn’t make it last min due to covid, the staffs also packed their food nicely for us to takeaway after. Our guests also complimented on the starters (soup + bread) and the prawn salad appetiser, which we agree tasted amazing. Portions of food are also huge, pretty sure no one left feeling hungry. There are still things that can be improved, hence our 3.5 stars 1. There’s no complimentary food tasting: • Food voucher was given to try out their food quality at TheHalia (restaurannt opposite of Villa) but not all dishes are available at Halia. 2. Main dish: • The kitchen didn’t have enough stock one week before the wedding day (due to the Malaysia ban? Not so sure) and had to change the chicken parts last minute. • Steak, which we topped up extra money for it, was totally different from our “food-tasting” experience at Halia. Many guests complained to us about having a hard time cutting and biting through it 😞 Almost everyone didn’t finish the steak. Very disappointing. 3. AV system — speaker quality: • On our wedding day, there was a few cracking incident when we try to turn up the volume. Hence we had to play our videos and BGM that we specially prepared, very softly 😣 4. AV system — speaker system between conjunct rooms are not connected: • As mentioned, we booked Batik room & Courtyard, which are right next to each other, separated by glass panels that can be slide open). However, their mic-speaker systems cannot be connected, and our emcee had to hold and speak into 2 microphones at once. That’s ridiculous, especially since Courtyard and Batik room is sold as a package and MUST be booked together. If they make this mandatory, we think the least they could do is to have a well-connected AV system between rooms. 5. AV system — singing is not allowed for their mic and speaker: • Hence we rented our own speaker and mic for that. Thankfully though, as our emcee ended up using it due to frustration over the previous mentioned points. We still had a memorable wedding day at TheVilla, though we can’t help feeling a little sad that it could have been even better for us and our guests. We certainly hope TheVilla can make it an even better experience for future couples :)
