The entire team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their professionalism and dedication really stood out. A special thank you to Obek Zaidi, who was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. He was incredibly patient, attentive, and always willing to accommodate our many requests with a positive attitude. His support made the planning so much easier and helped us feel confident that our big day would be perfect. Now, let’s talk about the food — it was truly MELETUP! Superb, flavorful, and delicious. Our guests kept coming back for more and gave us countless compliments on the quality and presentation of the dishes. It definitely exceeded all our expectations and was one of the highlights of the celebration. The wedding décor was nothing short of stunning. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the decorations and wedding chairs were brand new, which made the whole setting look fresh, elegant, and even more special. We had our wedding reception at THE IRIS CITY PLAZA BALLROOM on 20th July 2025. Firstly, we would like to express our appreciation to the staff and management team of THE IRIS CITY PLAZA BALLROOM. The wedding would not have been as successful if not for the team’s professional input and expertise. The ballroom itself was spacious, stunning, and cozy, providing our guests with the ideal environment to celebrate this monumental occasion. The food served during the event also received overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests. We would also like to thank Mr. Shafiq (Floor Manager) and the many staff members who were on the ground that day for their efficiency in ensuring that the food was always topped up and available for our guests. Finally, we would like to extend our biggest appreciation and thanks to Mr. Zaidi AKA Obek Zaidi, our Wedding Planner. His outstanding professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond for our family meant that personal requests and needs were met. His exceptional sense of urgency and sincere desire to make our vision a reality meant that any concerns were addressed almost immediately. For example, while we were planning where to source specific Malay ethnic decorations (Bunga manggar), he immediately said that he would be more than happy to provide them for free including the yellow umbrella. During the event itself, he was always readily available and actively checking up on us while asking if we need any assistance. On July 2023, my partner and I were looking around for wedding venues and The Iris came up as one of the top choices. I reached out via enquiry and Mona (wedding coordinator) responded within the day with detailed information of the venue as well as photos and packages available. Once we were available to view the venue, we met her and the rest was history. We were lucky enough that Mona was very hands on with us throughout the process. Initially, we wanted The Iris but she shared with us a new venue that was opening right across which is The Cove. The packages were even more discounted as it’s a new venue and we took the leap by signing on without seeing the complete and furnished look of The Cove. Months went on, a lot of questions and requests were given to Mona and she always came through, always there to answer every question and making sure any request could be fulfilled. We even went from 300 pax to 500 pax and made a few add on requests last minute which she was happy to help with at any given time. It was definitely an easy and fuss-free process for us because we did not want to worry about engaging external vendors for food or sound separately but we managed to get it all in one with the venue. Honestly, that really took a load off from all the other preparation required for the day. On the day of, 3/3/2024, everything went smoothly and exceeded all our expectations. All of our guests were happy, with the venue, food, and the whole experience. We were really nervous but were overjoyed to see everyone having a good time. We enjoyed the food and were so pleasantly surprised by the cake we had (which was also part of the package) because it was so good! We cannot thank Mona enough and we believe that having her with us throughout the process was what made everything so easy. I would recommend reaching out to Mona directly and engaging her services if you are looking to book the venue as she is attentive, caring and most of all, passionate about creating and assisting with the best experience for your big day.
