Taken from the Internet: Chimney Square is one of the few remaining nunneries in the world, and is also the oldest building complex in Singapore. Its history can be traced back to the Catholic monastery in 1852. Caldwell House was built in 1840, and the convent and orphanage houses were built in 1855. Another Gothic building is called CHIJMES Hall (Praise Hall). This building was renovated in 1996 and used for commercial purposes. It includes restaurants, entertainment centers, shops and more leisure facilities, as well as concerts, musicals and other artistic performances. In addition, it is also a popular place for wedding photos. Now it’s a great place to try all kinds of food.

Was here for a wedding. Very beautiful place for that. Loved it. Highly recommended for holding weddings, historic and pretty. But you'll have to get your own catering cos there's no kitchen here... nearest Chinese restaurant inside the compound is Lei Garden...
Attended a wedding lunch. The venue is nice and grand. The only issue is the poor acoustics. Food was chinese 8-course. Generally good with good serving staff.
