Great shoot, but be prepared for significant upsells The good: The gown consultant, photographer and makeup artist were all wonderful. We had a great time during the shoot, and the photographer was friendly and engaging. The not-so-good: Chris Ling was the first studio we visited, and we later learned its prices were well above those of other studios our friends had signed with, which also included fewer items. Still, we were drawn in by the storyboard concept and the sample album, so we went ahead with the 20-photo package. The trouble came on photo selection day. The consultant showed us the photos in series, and only then did we learn that a photobook needs a minimum of ten series, or we'd be limited to two photos per page, unlike the storyboard layout shown in the sample. Since each series has four to seven photos, getting the look we were promised would cost an extra $4k to $20k, depending on the number of series. We had budgeted for some additional spending, but not this much. It felt very different from what was pitched when we signed. The consultant (Joey) was also pushy. We understand this is part of the bridal industry, but she kept hard selling even after we said we wanted to stay within a lower budget. We ended up paying extra for items quite different from what we wanted, which was disappointing. In fairness, we should have clarified everything before confirming the package. Suggestions: Please be more transparent about pricing from the start, including the per-photo rate (hard or soft copy, with or without editing). If 20 photos aren't enough to achieve the look of the sample photobook, that should be made clear at the consultation. TL;DR: Recommended if you're willing to spend an extra $10k or more on additional photos. Otherwise, don't.

She made sure we looked our best while keeping our style natural and elegant – exactly what we wanted.
