Switch out of your corporate job and be an aspiring makeup artist!' I know it can really be scary to leave your traditional corporate job and start afresh, to do something that has really been your passion while making it your stream of income. It sounds a lil impossible because a lot will ask "this job can eat or not?", "it's unstable, you sure can survive?" etc. We do have many naysayers around us and make us doubt our capability and dream! I'm really tired of corporate job. I wanted to do something meaningful, something that would make me happy. After all, we only live once right? When I approached Susan Tee and shared with her my concerns, current situation and goals, she said it's not impossible as long as I have the skills and determination! True enough, I decided to accept her as my shifu and hope she would impart her skills and knowledge to help me in this makeup journey. Susan has never restricted herself to just the course agenda. In fact, she's super generous in guiding during the lessons and even after my course has ended! She never fails to help you when youre facing difficulties in hair or makeup techniques, and always teaches you the smartest way to work around. During the course, I loved how she would always bring me to her bridal assignments to observe and help her (hands-on) with hair preparation for the clients. It's so important when it comes to real life practical. Not only you get to touch real hair and face, you also get to experience the real stress and pressure during the wedding day. This is so invaluable to any trainees who are still green in this line! Oh oh! I always enjoyed the homecooked food her family made when I had my lessons at her place. She just gives you the homely and friendly vibe since day 1! Till now, after venturing into this line for about 1.5 years, I'm so thankful and glad that I've made the right decision in pursuing my passion, and to have met Susan as my teacher, buddy, cheerleader and good friend in my life.
