We want to share our experience so other couples don’t go through what we did. When we first visited in November 2024, John was very accommodating and eager to secure us as clients. Trusting his words, we placed a deposit immediately. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Many promises turned into outright “no’s,” causing immense stress during what should have been a joyful time. It was also shocking to learn that many people received completely different quotations for the same packages. The inconsistent pricing from John and Ivan, along with excuses about “different packages,” felt dishonest and misleading. Prices could change drastically within just two weeks, clearly showing they’ve given out so many different quotes that even they seem to forget what was promised. It might seem like a great experience at first if couples follow the quotations blindly, impressed by attractive pricing and the warm rapport they build in the beginning. But all of that is tied to empty promises that start to unravel once more details come to light. Communication was another major issue. They were quick to chase payments but extremely slow to respond to questions, revealing a serious lack of professionalism and coordination. It was also disappointing to hear how John tried to interfere with our external vendors, which came across as both unprofessional and unethical. We are grateful for Azmi, who was the only one consistently helpful during our visits. Without him, the experience would have been even worse. Bottom line: do not recommend this team, especially John and Ivan. Sadly, while the venue is in a beautiful location, Gemflora has ruined it with poor service and misleading practices. Disappointing Experience with Gem Flora We had high hopes for Gem Flora after being introduced to their comprehensive wedding package, which initially gave us confidence in their team. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of expectations due to significant communication issues and a lack of professionalism. From the beginning, we found ourselves constantly following up with the team for updates and confirmations. It felt like their main focus was securing payment rather than providing the promised support and service. We were told we would receive a complimentary room on the wedding day, but just one month before the event, we were informed that the rooms had been booked by someone else. This last-minute change forced us to rearrange the bride’s preparation plans, and although they offered another hotel, the inconvenience was not taken into consideration. We took the time to meet with their designer and carefully plan the décor. However, close to the event, we were told the designer had been in an accident and someone else had taken over. While we empathized with the situation, the transition was poorly handled. We had to repeat the planning process with someone new who ultimately failed to deliver what we wanted. On the actual day, the solemnisation table was not set up at the correct location. I had to quickly get a family member to intervene to have it rectified just moments before walking down the aisle. We were also told, very late in the process, that the TV screens weren’t working and the outdoor speakers were damaged. We had been firm with the team and insisted that the TV and audio issues be resolved before the actual day — only then were they rectified. It was clear that actions were only taken when we expressed our dissatisfaction. Despite having a group chat with at least six members of their team, our messages were often ignored. We had to reach out individually just to get a response. My fiancé even had to personally visit the venue the day before the wedding due to a complete lack of updates. When I followed up on décor issues, I was told they were busy with another client — incredibly disheartening given our wedding was just around the corner. The invoicing process was another source of frustration, with repeated back-and-forth due to internal miscommunication or lack of attention to detail. Amid all this, we’d like to acknowledge and thank John, who genuinely tried his best to accommodate to our requests. We really appreciated his efforts. The Audio and TV issues were sorted. Unfortunately, the rest of the team did not meet the same standard. As a bride and groom, we were hoping for a supportive, reliable team to help ease the pressure of wedding planning. Instead, we were left with added stress and disappointment. We hope the service and professionalism will improve for the future events.
