Arly was recommended by Salva from Sloth Creatives, and when I found Vicky’s portfolio, I instantly knew she was the one who can make me feel the most beautiful on my wedding day. 2 Nov 2024 being one of the hottest day to get married, it was no simple task finding a makeup artist who was available, and deliver a clean makeup look. What we all know as the no makeup, makeup look is actually incredibly hard to achieve and I knew I didn’t want to be that heavily made up bride. I wanted to feel like myself, yet more beautiful vs my day to day. If you look at Vicky’s instagram, you find a wide array of makeup styles but the clean makeup look truly stood out to me amidst all her work. How she managed to bring out the best features in every bride and every model, they were stunningly beautiful. On both occasions I met Vicky (trial + AD), it was as if we were long time friends and chatted endlessly. Being an awkward bride, it was one of my fears that I could not connect with my MUA, someone who has to maintain a close distance with for 2-3 hours at a time, for multiple times!! But it was so much fun chatting with her about anything under the sun, and she constantly reassured me on how beautiful I looked, how nice all the details were of the wedding. I felt nothing but at ease knowing my hair and makeup completely depended on those skilful hands of hers. From the start, Airin was very professional and thoughtful in catering to my particular skin needs and the looks that I wanted. I ended up going with a natural look for the solemnisation and a slightly more glamorous look for the wedding dinner and absolutely loved both. The solemnisation was outdoors while dinner was indoors so Airin was very attentive in making sure the looks would suit the occasion and venue in terms of lighting, comfort, humidity, vibe, etc. Sitting and chatting with Airin while she did my hair and make-up made time fly by and the whole process was quick and relaxing with minimal fuss, which was exactly how I wanted it.
